Press Releases: more to come Big Gumball News April 2003- Cobra News- We are frantically trying to finish upgrades and saftey checks for the shipment of the Cobra. There is a long list of needed modifications that we have almost complete. We have contacted D.A.S moving company and we have a tentative ship date for Miss Shelby. We are hopingg and praying she will be finished, parts are hard to come by! We are also rigging a make-shift top in case of rain. Kent bought a Jensen Interceptor for next years Rally and it was delivered today! As soon as this years Rally is over we will start preparing the Jensen for 2004! We would love to have it as a back up this year but it needs a hood! If anyone has a Jensen Interceptor Hood for sale (or donation) please contact Kent!
March 2003- 18 DAYS TILL GUMBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As the gumball rally rapidly approaches, we are doing all sorts of things to prepare. It's less than three weeks away!!! The car is going into the shop to make sure it's up for the challenge and for a last minute tune up. We are gathering up our gear for the long trip and thinking about what to do if it rains. As you probably know the Cobra does not have a top on it or windshield wipers. If anyone has any ideas on the best ways to continue with the trip in the rain, please let us know. We are also making CD's to listen to since we'll be in the car for so long. To those of you that have been supporting us throughout this whole thing, THANK YOU. It's great to know you have friends that are behind you.
Jan 2 2003- Dave Reilly the hillarious comedian and one of the greatest entertainers on the East Coast performed for our New Years Eve Party. He was phenomenal! Everyone whom attended was treated to Filet Mignon, Lobster Tail, and other fabulous delicatesies. We would like to thank all of you that attended. We rasied a significant amount of money and are reaching about half way on our target dollar goal! We will soon have pictures of the great event. Dave will be performing in Baltimore on the 10th and 11th of this month, so lets all go see him talk smack about Leonardsville! Dec 13th 2002- A few tips for all those fast drivers out there!!!! Tips!!! Dec 10th 2002- Nov. 26th 2002- Nov. 21st 2002- Nov. 20th 2002- Nov.11th2002- After testing the cobra at high speeds this weekend,we are extremely pleased about the way the Cobra drives and handles. We have not, however, ruled out entering a different car. We like the way the Cobra drives and handles but will consider driving another vehicle due to space and technological breakthroughs that will be neglected due to room. We are asking for any exotic or sports type cars to be lent to the Big Gumballers for consideration for the rally. We will offer great advertising and/or rental fee if necessary. We are planning on driving the fast and ferocious Cobra but if something else falls in our laps we will gladly compare safety and speed issues as well as other comparisons for the best solution for the Big Gumballers. Any ideas about different cars please email us. Nov.5th 2002- The site is still under construction and will probably always be under construction. I only get a few hours a night to work on it due to putting in stressful hours at my day job, I hate looking at computers when I get home! Anyway on with the news . So far to get us all up to speed we have had one financial Sponsor (Kathy) with a generous amount of $500. We also greatly appreciate the donation of a 1967 Shelby Cobra form Jenn Swann owner of Nook and Monks Restaurant (Great Food!!! located in Leonardtown). New Sponsorship Program! We will be offering a great program for those of you who would like to sponsor us as we experience a great moment in our lives. We call it the Miles for Morans (Morons). Donate a Nickel, Dime, or Quarter for the 3000 miles we will race. Contacted a good friend John Pica whose father is an instructor for high
speed driving for the FBI. He will be teaching us how to drive safely at high
speeds (not that we will be speeding, but in case of an emergency!) We will
be taught at a closed course so none of you will be in any danger when you
are driving around.
